Len Shelley

Born 2 March 1964; died 13 October 2010

Len Shelley was a well established professional artist living on the South Coast of England who sadly passed away after a short illness. His speciality was "Art in a Box". These are three dimensional tableaux of extraordinary miniature figures in fantastic worlds. For materials, he scoured the beach near his studio. Even the boxes in which the tableaux reside were made from driftwood, in order to ensure that the wood was fully seasoned. He held one man exhibitions in London, Brussels and Amsterdam and was featured in The Independent newspaper and on German and Belgian television.

As his first cousin, I wish to write a book about his life and work.

I would therefore be very grateful for any memories, anecdotes and print publishable images of his art that anyone would care to email me preferably at shelleys@shelleys.demon.co.uk or taufiqshelley@gmail.com
